I really dislike writing about work. I really dislike even talking about work but today is an interesting day for me. After years of spectating construction today I’ve had the opportunity to work at the Lemmen Holton Cancer Pavilion.
When I first started working at Spectrum Health was around the time when they started construction on the new building. Years back about where the sexy turn around now is there used to be a Burger King. I was working the day they tore that bitch down.
Though the years since I no longer work downtown I would take periodic walks to keep up to speed on the construction. It’s a crazy thought to be working in this building I’ve been watching be constructed for years.
If anybody gets a chance check out this propaganda that was shown in the Grand Rapids Press. The building is impressive.
Today I went four a four mile run and came to the conclusion the new Disturbed CD is absolutely badass.
Now with that out of the way…..
For years Disturbed has been my favorite band. Some of my favorite memories from college and beyond have revolved around the band.
I can remember when the Prayer video was released in 2002 and fully understanding there is not a lead singer that is more epic then David from Disturbed.
I can remember being at Ozzfest 2001 and being demanded to put my “mo**erf**king fists in the air”!
I can remember seeing the Music is a Weapon tour in 2006 and watching Che sing all the lyrics to “The Game” . A memory I will never forget.

As you get older your tastes change and your heroes let you down but Disturbed has always rocked. The new offerings are just as good if not better then their old material. These feelings maybe because we have been graced with some “New Disturbed” but trust me there are some good tracks. Go for a jog. Go for a bike ride. Mow the lawn. Clean the house. Get moving and listen to the new tracks they won’t disappoint. I would suggest if you can get MP3’s of the b-sides ‘Run‘ and ‘Parasite‘ your iPod will deliver a much improved “Indestructible” experience.

I was informed (how I didn’t know this already is beyond me) that today is National Doughnut Day.
For as long as I can remember Donuts have been one of my favorite foods.
Best holiday ever.
I just consumed some glorious juice, a donut, and a bagel as an midshift snack.
Getting a little better then my last run. Today’s run was on a tougher course course and fueled with worse diet and precursed with worse training (I didn’t train don’t tell anyone). I defeated 470 other men with little to no forethought or effort. I am the man.
