Yesterday two people in my “social circle” have joined the service Twitter. After reading ad nauseum on various blogs and news sources on how amazing Twitter is I figured I would join up and give it a go.
For people who are not familar with Twitter here is a blub from their front page about the service.
Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?

In the past I tried Pownce and at that time I wasn’t really in the mood to try a service like that. Also Pownce seems more along the lines of sharing files and photos then what Twitter is trying to do. I also think Twitter could be a good middle ground for what I’m trying to do with my blog and google reader.
If anybody decides to take the plunge with me I would totally recommend installing a client for sending and receiving updates. I’ve been using twhirl is a desktop twitter client, based on the Adobe AIR platform. There are many clients to choose from but Twhirl will run on and everything and is free.
My updates will be pretty lame I’m not sure if this service is going to be something I stick with or not but maybe I can try and update at least once a day. If anybody decides to sign up follow @vanlandw.
Also as you can see enfuego is just a twittering fiend…..you must join to witness this revolution.

Aside from the people I told would anybody have noticed I was phone-less for over a week?
I highly doubt it…
My old phone took too many bumps and decided it didn’t want to work anymore.
I’ve never been much of a phone guy. To some the phone can be used to keep in touch for me it’s mostly a tool of necessity. Using other forms of communication have always been my preferred method. If an issue or conversation is not urgent email is the way to go. While at work using IM for my daily interaction works best. My phone usage has always been low and I like it that way. The people I want to see I try to see as much as possible and I’ve been using Facebook and email more to communicate with family.
In the time it took me to replace my phone I had no personal voice mail, one wrong number voice mail, and one spam voice mail.
There wasn’t one time when my phone was broken that I NEEDED my phone. No emergency, no insanity…
It’s crazy thought considering how attached somebody are to their phones now.
I’m sure nobody reading this blog will feel the same way as me. Also I get my communication fixes other ways and it’s more then well known that I don’t answer my phone 99% of the time anyway
Regardless my new phone is a VX4650 thanks for vanberge for the hookup feel free to call me. Also I lost all my numbers like an idiot I stored all my numbers on my phone.
This post was going to be deeper then this but ef it my next post will be more epic. Any thoughts?

Looking at the source material I know I’m walking right into a publicity stunt for the most part but really this is something I firmly believe in. After recently watching “Hitman” and by default finding it to be the best video game based movie so far while watching yesterday LOTR:TTT I said to vanbergs “I don’t think they will ever make movies that are this cool ever again.” Then I said “If they made a proper Halo based movie they could”.
How in the world with so much good source material how is there not a true good video game movie?
Uwe Boll thats why.
Personally I’ve never seen any of his films but it’s always been a small personal goal of mine to see all the video game based movies. I’ve seen the Mortal Kombat movies and I own the abysmal Super Mario Brothers movie on DVD but never seen a Uwe Boll movie.
Today I stumbled upon this article quoting if a this petition receives a million signatures Mr. Boll will stop butchering video game licenses. I urge all to sign. Time needed was about 40 seconds. The likelihood of this reaching a million signatures is slim but you can’t claim victory if you don’t even try.
