OK lets see here. On my bookshelf there are probably over 20 unread books I want to read. On my video game shelf I have another 20 games I still haven’t defeated. My DVD’s are stacked with unopened and unwatched DVD’s.
This is what I call Media Overload. I love reading. I love playing video games. I love watching movies. The problems is that there is TOO MANY good books, video games and movies to consume.
Keep in mind there are also other pastimes I enjoy: eating, hanging out with friends, updating my website, reading feeds, sleeping, working out periodically, vacationing, and hanging with Tepper, Gizmo, and Che to keep the list short.
Everybody I believe has queues of entertainment they don’t have the time to do because of there are already a million things everybody needs to do and wants to do and sadly everybody has to work sometime.
Personally I don’t view this as a problem but more of a discussion point. It’s a good thing in our day of age that we have so much entertainment available. Do others find Media Overload a issue? I’d like to hear some feedback mostly because I think about it a lot.
Disclaimer: I’m not writing about the Eminem song… I’ve recently come to the conclusion that I own way to much stuff. All my life I’ve been a pack rat and will constantly keep belongings that I may EVENTUALLY find a use for, or just things that I like. Slowly stuff has been getting pitched. Here are two t-shirts I decided needed to be given retirement and shared with my content starved readership.

This t-shirt dates back to my Junior year of High School. The picture doesn’t do the discolor of this t-shirt justice. The shirt needed to go but I wanted a permanent memory of it’s existence.

This t-shirt will always be one of my favorites. As a true nerd I always found this shirt fascinating. I’ve never understood the relationship pairing OS/2 Warp and Ninjas but the results are truly morbid. In the past few months I’ve been feeling a little Possessed and it was nice to get rid of some old crap and clothing that went unused.
One of my favorite sites when I was in college was ThePRP. Sadly since I’ve migrated away from visiting sites daily to using RSS feeds I haven’t been reading ThePRP much the last few years. Curiosity grabbed me today and I wanted to see if the site intergrated RSS yet. Sadly no….
Doing a google search today I found a service called Dapper with wonderful user named “MadCowDzz” who created a “Dapp” that allows ThePRP to be read in an RSS reader. Now I can share out music news, look for it in my Google Reader shared items.
