“LOL” at google AdSense

A few days ago I was browsing they.misled.us and came across something very odd.  From time to time I click on jja’s AdSense to help him out for the wonderful utilities he has created.  After seeing the advert on the right I just HAD to click on it.  Seriously, anybody that is an avid reader of jja’s homepage is NEVER going to click on that ad.  His reader base I HIGHLY doubts has issues with “Vaginosis“.  The three woman that actually read his site I’m sure were drawn there by his views on Feminism….lol :-)

Windows Live Writer (Beta)

For the longest time I’ve been looking for a “desktop application that makes it easier to compose compelling blog posts”!  After the cute Microsoft propaganda sadly Windows Live Writer isn’t running in OS X. The default WordPress editor sucks balls and I’ve been looking for a replacement.  JJA’s Dark Room works great for busting out posts when I DON’T feel like updating, but when I do need to get an update posted I’ve been looking for the fastest means possible.  For “free” Windows seems to have the best possible option. The setup for Live Writer went as good as it could.  I put in my Custom WordPress information and changed a few FTP settings for images and from what I can see I have been unable to find any issues.  The program runs fast and so far making multiple edits to this post I haven’t been able to crash it yet

Personally the toolbars are way to ”Office 2003″ for my liking.  OS X and Mozilla apps have really spoiled a user like me who likes to remove as much clutter and buttons I never use.  Another “nit/pick” is the application looks like crap with my custom Windows XP theme.  Clearly WLW was created with Luna in mind.  Also Vista better have built in on the fly spell checking.  Again the archaic Outlook 2000 “Check Spelling Before Publishing” sucks when you get used to constant spell checking.  Hopefully past the Beta WLW will have Word 2003 spell checking abilities and give us the little red lines under the words. I’m a pathetic speller…I admit it…. :-(

Overall I hate to admit this but MS has a winner on their hands with this one.  Hopefully new updates don’t bring Software Bloat but for all the WordPress bloggers stuck in a Windows word this program should make things a little easer on ya.

**UPDATE**
For some reason this application will upload the images and even get the post to hit the database but for “post date” it’s 1969-12-31 18:59:59 and anything “date” related is totally wrong.  For this application to work for me I would have to post using WLW then login to phpMyAdmin and manually change the dates for this post to view.  The dates on my local PC are right and as far as I could tell my hosting is set to the right time as welll.  Checking the WLW “FAQ” provided no answers at all.  Also the application itself is showing the post time as correct as well.  For now this application DOES NOT get my vote of confidence.  It’s a shame too becuase the editing process was so seemless.  Also for now my post numbering convention is totally off after so many failed attempts and I’m too tired right now to look up how to fix that in WP.  BTW in the end I did a “copy and paste” into the WordPress editor to get this pointless post to the masses.

24 Season 5 DVD Date/Contents

On tvshowsondvd.com information has been posted on the release of 24 Season 5 on DVD. I don’t think this is the FULL list of extras but finally they listed a date (December 5th) and a whole bunch of commentaries.

A US DVD cover hasn’t been announced yet (R2 Here and a R2 Season 1-5 Boxset with the coolest cover further down) but back in April fans could vote for what they wanted the cover to look like. HERE is a link with the five covers (I voted for the bottom left) so that will give a taste to what US has in store. Still waiting for firm confirmation on the Season 6 Prequel but I’m certain it will either be released on the Web or on the DVD….hopefully…
