Wes,
Just take a listen to the little ditty on this CD….then feel free to chuck it across the room.
Also, I apologize for the obnoxious envelope I had to use to mail this.
Please have a super day.
GOEDGE
This is a post I’ve been meaning to post this for a LONG time. I was in the basement looking for apple stickers for the gato and stumbled upon the CD that contains sheer college humor. The note above was contained with the CD.
Back in good olde 2001 apparently I aided goedge and enfuego for one of their broadcasting assignments. The assignment was a “parody” of Real American Heroes/Real Men of Genius. FINALLY I have uploaded this work of art to the worst/world wide web. Keep in mind there are THREE versions. I recommend the “full version” as its the longest and most complete version. The FULL version is 60 seconds. The others are much shorter but still worth a listen. Open in iTunes with album art showing for the full experience

Apparently my aunt has bought a very similar car to the one on the right. Jealously instantly kicks in as I drive a car about 200% LESS COOL then that one.
While reading my awstats apparently my number one google search phrase for vanlandw.com is “2007 g6″ so I might as well post some more information I’ve found regarding the 2007 model.
To be honest this is REALLY old news. The changes were released back in April and I’ve already seen base models of the 2007 at the dealerships. Regardless I would like to post the best links I’ve found running down the differences from 2006 to 2007.

The good additions are standard anti-lock breaks on all models and side air bags on all models minus the vert. Bad subtractions is the 6 speed manual on the GTP and the removal of the “Stealth Gray Metallic” color.
Personally I still really like this car and for the cost there really isn’t anything better. The lack of an Line In (iPod) port is awful and the more I think about it the more I want to wait for the refresh in a few years. If I had to buy a car today the G6 would be my choice. Still one of my favorites but it should be better.
For some reason today I was reminded of this comic so I’m posting this in my archives for everyone to read rather then creating a bookmark. Really this is one of the “most funny” comics of all time so everybody take a gander.

A little over a year ago I made the switch over to Apple buying my first Macintosh. Since high school I’ve been mostly stuck in a windows world. My high school used Macs and a college internship provided Mac experience but 99% of my computing experiences was in front of a Windows PC. After speaking with Mac users and hearing all the praise I made the decision to make my next computer purchase a Macintosh. Enough is enough, and it’s time for a change!
I made the decision to go with a 20inch G5 iMac for a few reasons. My main reason was at the time I didn’t own a LCD. When I was first making plans to get a new machine I was going to get a PowerMac and buy a 20-24 inch monitor. After pricing everything out I would have went WAY over my budget. Further reasoning was why buy a balls to the wall Mac just in case I don’t like it. The iMac provided the full Mac experience with an amazing monitor at a good entry price.
The road traveled so far has been quite positive. There has been very few tasks I’ve been unable to do that I could on Windows. The freeware market is strong so finding an application to get a job done doesn’t require too much effort. Most of the “good” applications do cost money. There has been many times I’ve wanted to use an application but the price of entry was too much.
On my home network I currently run one Windows 2003 server and a Windows XP Dell laptop. Networking with my Windows server has been effortless. Mapping network drives and sharing files and music has never been a problem. My laptop is pretty much unaffected by the Macintosh but never the less I’ve never had any issues with sharing files.
My main complaint has to be the overall speed of the OS. I’ve upgraded to 1Gig of RAM but still I run into the Spinning Beach Ball Of Death. Using Firefox is S.L.O.W. and really I’ve never been impressed with the speed of OS X. I think a migration to Leopard and if I REALLY get desperate and spend $260 on a 2Gig RAM upgrade may speed up things.
Overall the experience has been positive. To tell the truth I haven’t really scratched the surface of OS X. I hardly do anything productive on my comptuer and I have tons of apps (iLife) I’ve hardly touched. In the future I want to buy some software to make my blogging faster (maybe ecto) and I need a SFTP app that matches WinSPC. Anybody looking for recommendations for their next personal computer my advice would be to get an Apple. The price of admission is worth every penny and if you want less and less headaches OS X is where you are going to find them.
Today I was debating upgrading the theme on vanlandw.com. I tried out one that changed my language to German I believe. I also ran into a lot of issues with upgrading to the newest nightly build of K2. For anybody that has issues viewing the page now PLEASE CLEAR OUT YOUR CACHE. For some reason I had a big problem with that (even doing a full reload of the page didn’t help).
So far the newest version of K2 is great. It intergrates fully the live archives I hope people take advantage of. Also I was able to implement with no issues a Recently Commented option I’ve started to grow fond of on other weblogs. The search function is greatly improved as well. Soon I’ll hopefully work on the “look and feel” of the site.

I love Contra. I also love vanberge. The time has come for a massive celebration of vanberge’s change of marital status. We are throwing him a party and pretty much anybody who wants to attend is invited. Vanbergs has already wrote a much better post about this on his website, but to increase awareness I figured I could mirror his content for people who may just read my site and to get word around.
The most important part is the…
WHEN: The entire weekend of Sept. 22, 23, and 24.
The date gives people a shade over a month to get work and other not as important obligations handled. As of today I have taken PTO for Friday and right now the plan for the 22nd is to either have a party at my house or have a bar night.
For Saturday it seems we are going to plan a “paintball” morning/afternoon then head up to the casino for drinking, buffets, and possibly loose women (jk….maybe).
Right now that is the plan. If people are interesting in going and need details either leave comments here or e-mail me. Also a phone call to me or vanbergs would be AOK as well. This should be an epic occasion I hope we can get a rather large group of consultants and vans to attend
The picture above is the only photo I could find epic enough portray how utterly insane this weekend is truly going to be.
Last week at some point I was watching a video of somebody beating Halo 2 on Legendary difficulty in record time without perishing. (If anybody cares you can download the video HERE). Regardless of how cool that accomplishment is this post really isn’t about that at all. After that guy just destroyed the video game I was watching the ending credits and found something interesting….

APPARENTLY somebody with the name “Van Van” works at Microsoft on Xbox Live implementation. Without question that person has the best name ever. I thought being a “Van” was enough but that guy just up’s the ante on vanhood.
