Blockbuster 75% Deal / CC $8.97 Deal

Last night me and vanbergs attacked two Game Rush’s looking for cheap videogames. I’m a sucker for buying games that don’t cost hardly anything so I figured lets go all out and see what I can find. Here is a list of what I got and it may increase with an impending trip possibly after trabajo. If anybody is interested here is a link to CAG (registration required) for information on the deal.

I am a dutch nerd. So I spent a shade over $100 and got a crap load of videogames. Not bad. Now i just having to find some time to play them. I’ll update this post if I end up getting anything else.

lmao

Ok the normal look of the page is back. Sorry vanberge but that theme was just to ugly to tolerate anymore. I should be able to give a full update tonight :-)

Unquestionable “Blocked”

Currently I’m listening to “No Easy Way Out”. This classic heart aching song has driven me and vanberge to overhaul our wordpress theme. I’m sure everybody will agree with us that with out question this is teh most beautiful “look and feel” to a website ever created. Please praise both of us on the great work we have done. I hope everybody likes the new blue moon green s**t look of the new page :-)

Nintendo DS Lite

Last weekend I purchased a Nintendo DS Lite.  I ment to post about it earler but I wanted to make sure I had some time to get some games before making a post regarding the device.  I got some pretty decent deals with some of my saved up gift cards and store credits.  So far I’m more then happy with my purchase and plan on purchasing multiple games for this device.

On June 11th I went to CC and made the purchase.  I had a coupon for a free game and was planning on getting their freebee of a free case as well.  The counter jockey would not give me both free items so I settled on the free game rather then the free case.  The game is worth more and I would rather buy a case I want rather then one that kinda sucks.

So far I have five games.  Oddly enough I’ve been playing more GBA games then my DS games.  I haven’t owned a handheld console since the orginal Game Boy so I have a lot of catching up to do.  I miss playing classic games and this is about the best way to experience these titles.  The DS Lite screen is so bright and clear and is perfect for just sitting around and enjoying a nice quick jab of gaming. Also replaying some of my childhood favorites makes me want to mod my xbox more and more so I can play older titles anytime I want. I’ll post about that some other time…

Personally I recommend getting a DS Lite.  One down side I can see is the size of the device itself.  Larger hands may have some problems.  My hands cramp up a little bit and I’m quite tiny.  Other then that the price point is perfect abit with games being a tad over priced IMHO.  If anybody has any questions please don’t hesitate to ask.  Thumbs up from vanlandw.

Insanity

Today I got my oil changed. The wonderful techs at McGraw Tire Co did a fantastic job. They sent me a coupon for a free lube/oil/filter in the mail and they did it minus any complaints. They also do full auto repair so when I finally decide to be my ABS break light fixed they may get my business.

While I was driving around town today I was noticing something very odd. Normally I don’t see many Cutlass’ like mine on the road. While cruzin though east town and on my way to work today I passed at the least ten of my car. Normally I may see a few in a week but today all the GR Cutlass owners must have been out in full force today.

Tonight should bring a self change of my air filter on my car. Hopefully I don’t destroy my engine in the process. Wish me luck…

Sheer Videogame Memories

I’ve been playing videogames for quite a long time.  In that time I’ve defeated maybe hundreds of games. Today while at work I was browsing digg and on the front page was quite a nostalgic post.  Apparently somebody titled “Flying Omelette” compiled a list of his Top 50 Game Ending songs.  Now I’m going to debate if I agree or disagree with him but the list is quite a throwback in the ages.

I’m getting up there in age so it’s hard to go back and replay a lot of the games on this list but hearing some of these tracks bring back memories.  I remember playing Faxanadu and getting so frustrated with the “Mantra” system.  I have such horrid penmanship I lost so much progress just because I couldn’t read my own writing.  Beating that game was quite the accomplishment. Also damn Mr. Omelette on reminding me how much I hated Illusion of Gaia (abit I did defeat it) :???:

I am embarrassed to say there are games on this list that I did play and never defeated.  I loved Xenogears and was 40+ hours into it and my game was erased by a old college roomate. Regardless any fan of games prior to 2000 should really check this site out. MP3’s are provided as well as screenshots and commentary by Lord Omelette.

20% off DVD’s at DDD.com

I mostly don’t post stuff like this but it’s a damn good deal I feel my small readership would enjoy. Deep Discount DVD about twice a year does a 20% off sale. They already have some of the lowest DVD prices on the net, free shipping and no tax. All you have to do is add items to your cart and in the “Enter Promotion/Sale Code:” at checkout part just put in either “DVDTALK” or “ESPN” as the code and save 20% on your order.

I’ve shopped with DDD before and they are a good retailer. Decent prices and not paying for tax and shipping is nice. The selection is pretty top notch as well. For people who need to catch up on 24 or The Shield this is a good chance to though the summer. Also some great deals on recently released stuff like the 4-disk Kingdom of Heaven is under $15 dollars. I’m not sure if I’m going to partake in the sale. There’s not many DVD’s I feel I need to own right now but I may pick up one box set to get me though the summer. Any suggestions?

jjafuller of they.misled.us fame sent me the best flickr album ever on my quest to find a filler image for this otherwise bland post. For some reason I ended up sticking with my orginal choice of .hw :???:
