Comcast should offer these speeds….

Work tonight is going pretty slow so while browsing my own website I decided to take the bandwidth test posted on the sidebar.

Apparently my upload speeds at work are higher then my download speeds at home.  Clearly I’m quite depressed about this.

24 Episode 15 / Season Thoughts

After seeing episode 15 a little late I figured it was about time to write up some thoughts on the season. vanlandw.com seems to get a little traffic from bauercount.com so I figure some people would find some interest in what I have to say on the current happenings with season five.

***SPOILERS GALORE***

First thing we need to remember is since episode five Jack Bauer has been saving the world with a broken rib.

SPOILER IMAGE #1

This season seems to be a pretty rough day for Jack Bauer. He has been punched in the face countless times, thrown into walls, tazered twice at least, had CQC contests on multiple occasions, he must be deaf after having un-silenced weapons fired directly around his person minus ear protection, survived a “metal file box” bomb, and after episode fifteen it seems he has been buried alive. What the hell else is going to happen next is anybody’s guess.

While watching the most recent episode I noticed this…

SPOILER IMAGE #2

When Jack was bellowing at this weak female I noticed the gun status. As far as I can tell the gun Jack “secured” from the guard is a glock of some sort. Now in that shot the gun seems to have the slide pulled back and secured in the slide stop. I guess it makes the gun look cool but renders it useless if Jack really did plan on obliterating this female. If he pulled the trigger nothing would happen right? I could be wrong oh well I just though it was weird.

Another thing I noticed about Jack is that he NEVER follows ANY of the gun safety rules.

THE THREE FUNDAMENTAL GUN SAFETY RULES
1. Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.
2. Always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.
3. Always keep the gun unloaded until ready to use.

What a badass….

Clearly I’m enjoying season five enormously. The action has been top notch but not as prevalent as in season four. Kiefer of course is putting on an acting course for every other television actor. I still find it amazing Kiefer and the writers still can find ways to keep the character as engaging as they did in season one. I’m still kinda angry about how Tony’s death was handled but I’m getting over it. I’m still glad gamgee and Edgar are dead. I’m assuming Audrey is gonna “get it” if you catch my drift. What in gods name is going to happen for nine more episodes is beyond me.

Busy Weekends

For maybe the first time in years my next three weekends will end up being pretty busy. I know my life posts don’t have many fans but I kinda feel like writing about this.  I sware a 24/Video Game post will be created tonight.

This weekend four members of my family will be in Grand Rapids. They will be spending the night in the Amway Grand Plaza and we going to Frederik Meijers Gardens to view the Foremost Butterflies. I went to this exibit a few few years ago and it was pretty cool. We are also planning on hitting the “Treasures of Ancient Egypt” at the GR Public Museum. Sadly my digital camera is broken so photos won’t be posted.

Next weekend my dad is coming in town for the day.  I’m not exactly sure what is going to happen but I’m going to lobby for chinese food and maybe a movie depending on how the weather is.

For the weekend of April 14th the Bobby Donnell of GVSU Jeff Kramer is HOPEFULLY coming to town with payner for a two day weekend of “beer, videogames, and 24″.  I’m pretty sure a bar trip is in order to followed by x-box/Guitar Hero and being jackasses like we were in Robinson Hall. Maybe Goedge will come?

Sheer Enfuego

enfuego

Clearly enfuego is a handler of materials. Also enfuego apparently has started a blog chronicaling his existance of transporting materials from one location to the next.  Lets all give enfuego a round of applause for his new position!

I’ve Returned…

Downtime is a bitch huh? Clearly a lot has happened in my life since the last time vanlandw.com was able to accept a ping request. The biggest change has been my change of address. Finally moved downtown to a really great place around some really cool people. Sadly I’m walking distance to dot hardware.

Also vanlandw.com has changed hosts. For over two years I was hosting vanlandw.com from my bedroom but now this page is hosted on the-bob.org. Many thanks to chouse for his assistance with my domains the past month.

One thing I made sure of was avoiding downtime for bauercount.com. I moved the domain over at about the right time. Apparently for the month of March the site has done over 31000 unique visitors and got linked by quite a few popular blogs. Many thanks to jjafuller for his assistance. Regardless of his web skills they will never make up for this INSANELY SPOILERFIC 24 POST. He is the wpe…

Give me some time to fix up this site and get some of my old content back. Hopefully I will be forgiven for having the site down for so long.
