Sorry for the link based posts….deal with it. Huge news on the ’24′ front. Apparently Kiefer Sutherland has signed on to do three more seasons of my favorite show ever. Also seems he will be elevated from a co-executive producer to executive producer. Thank god Season five won’t bring the real “death” of Jack Bauer. IMHO that would be the dumbest thing ever. GG to Kiefer he’s worth every penny.

Moving on. Last week ‘Prison Break’ did a really stupid ‘three years ago’ type of episode. Personally Prison Break was a nice diversion waiting for my favorite shows to return (in the same category as Lost and a few others). To keep this short last weeks episode was rather crummy. In stead of ranting and raving I’d rather provide a weblink to an article that sums my feelings rather well. Keep in mind it’s spoiler ridden. That article 100% sums how I feel about the current direction of the show. BTW sadly I caught the teaser for tonights episode and it looks much much better.

I noted in my previous 24 post that Jack Bauer has been “tasered” twice this season. Also in past seasons the infamous “taser”" is about the only thing that can really stop Jack. While browsing the web I have found a company that is creating a Anti-Stun Gun Fabric Suit. Now if Jack Bauer had one of these I would have to say absolutely NOTHING could stop him.

After seeing episode 15 a little late I figured it was about time to write up some thoughts on the season. vanlandw.com seems to get a little traffic from bauercount.com so I figure some people would find some interest in what I have to say on the current happenings with season five.
***SPOILERS GALORE***
First thing we need to remember is since episode five Jack Bauer has been saving the world with a broken rib.
SPOILER IMAGE #1
This season seems to be a pretty rough day for Jack Bauer. He has been punched in the face countless times, thrown into walls, tazered twice at least, had CQC contests on multiple occasions, he must be deaf after having un-silenced weapons fired directly around his person minus ear protection, survived a “metal file box” bomb, and after episode fifteen it seems he has been buried alive. What the hell else is going to happen next is anybody’s guess.
While watching the most recent episode I noticed this…
SPOILER IMAGE #2
When Jack was bellowing at this weak female I noticed the gun status. As far as I can tell the gun Jack “secured” from the guard is a glock of some sort. Now in that shot the gun seems to have the slide pulled back and secured in the slide stop. I guess it makes the gun look cool but renders it useless if Jack really did plan on obliterating this female. If he pulled the trigger nothing would happen right? I could be wrong oh well I just though it was weird.
Another thing I noticed about Jack is that he NEVER follows ANY of the gun safety rules.
THE THREE FUNDAMENTAL GUN SAFETY RULES
1. Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.
2. Always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.
3. Always keep the gun unloaded until ready to use.
What a badass….
Clearly I’m enjoying season five enormously. The action has been top notch but not as prevalent as in season four. Kiefer of course is putting on an acting course for every other television actor. I still find it amazing Kiefer and the writers still can find ways to keep the character as engaging as they did in season one. I’m still kinda angry about how Tony’s death was handled but I’m getting over it. I’m still glad gamgee and Edgar are dead. I’m assuming Audrey is gonna “get it” if you catch my drift. What in gods name is going to happen for nine more episodes is beyond me.
