24 Episode 15 / Season Thoughts

After seeing episode 15 a little late I figured it was about time to write up some thoughts on the season. vanlandw.com seems to get a little traffic from bauercount.com so I figure some people would find some interest in what I have to say on the current happenings with season five.

***SPOILERS GALORE***

First thing we need to remember is since episode five Jack Bauer has been saving the world with a broken rib.

SPOILER IMAGE #1

This season seems to be a pretty rough day for Jack Bauer. He has been punched in the face countless times, thrown into walls, tazered twice at least, had CQC contests on multiple occasions, he must be deaf after having un-silenced weapons fired directly around his person minus ear protection, survived a “metal file box” bomb, and after episode fifteen it seems he has been buried alive. What the hell else is going to happen next is anybody’s guess.

While watching the most recent episode I noticed this…

SPOILER IMAGE #2

When Jack was bellowing at this weak female I noticed the gun status. As far as I can tell the gun Jack “secured” from the guard is a glock of some sort. Now in that shot the gun seems to have the slide pulled back and secured in the slide stop. I guess it makes the gun look cool but renders it useless if Jack really did plan on obliterating this female. If he pulled the trigger nothing would happen right? I could be wrong oh well I just though it was weird.

Another thing I noticed about Jack is that he NEVER follows ANY of the gun safety rules.

THE THREE FUNDAMENTAL GUN SAFETY RULES
1. Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.
2. Always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.
3. Always keep the gun unloaded until ready to use.

What a badass….

Clearly I’m enjoying season five enormously. The action has been top notch but not as prevalent as in season four. Kiefer of course is putting on an acting course for every other television actor. I still find it amazing Kiefer and the writers still can find ways to keep the character as engaging as they did in season one. I’m still kinda angry about how Tony’s death was handled but I’m getting over it. I’m still glad gamgee and Edgar are dead. I’m assuming Audrey is gonna “get it” if you catch my drift. What in gods name is going to happen for nine more episodes is beyond me.

Considering you gave me so much shit about a single, cropped screen shot I think that you should probably take your own advice, and turn those images into links in order to spare anyone the horror of seeing screenshots from an episode that already aired. :-/

  2. 2 vanlandw

    fixed

  3. 3 Jeff

Considering how much worse the post looks with the links, maybe you better put the image back up, and just say “screw the people who don’t like spoilers.”

  4. 4 vanlandw

lmao i was thinking that but i think your orginal thoughts were the correct ones. hopefully my next post I’ll be able to include some images :-*

  5. 5 Jeff

Probably not. Unless you can gaurentee that everything you post on your site, everyone has already seen, you will be spoiling something for someone.

jjafuller….i may obliterate you…you are getting WAY off topic. I was hoping to invite some conversation about 24 onto my site and all we are doing is bickering :-(

  7. 7 Jeff

I just figured that since you gave me so much shit, I could return the favor.

I’M GOING TO DELETE ALL THESE COMMENTS AND START OVER AND HOPEFULLY WE CAN TALK ABOUT HOW THIS SEASON IS GOING >:O

  9. 9 chouse

whenever i wave guns around at females i always keep it “secured in the slide stop”, because i’m only threatening them, i’m never actually planning on shooting them. bauer understands this shit. english majors unite!!!

Rusty, I think it has been pretty well established that you have an irrational fear of guns. Therefore, I cannot imagine you holding a projectile weapon at anyone, let alone a female.

  12. 12 vanlandw

Rusty, I’m sure it’s the other way around. Women are threatening YOU! You are a mistress Russ….

I hate to agree with el full but he is right.

Chouse the pictures started as being embedded with the post but I chose not to do that. That is why the photos are so small. I should have retaken them :-(

  13. 13 Kramer

I am pretty sure Rusty would wet himself if he came within 10 feet of a firearm.

  14. 14 vanlandw

I agree 100% with Kramer. Rusty would need a diaper if he was going to operate a weapon :-[

  15. 15 bun

full, i aim my projectile weapon at women all the time- they usually find it quite satisfying.

vanlandw, i am not a mistress of burden.

    kramer, never return from texas.

    brb.

rusty…..i am sure you “release” yourself over females all the time. I pray for those women every day and hope they find the power to find some self-respect :-p

    jk :-*

  17. 17 vanbergs

who the hell cares about gun safety?

  18. 18 vanlandw

In the world of “24″ nobody gives a rats about gun safety. Nobody is wearing ear protection and crossfire is prevelent countless times. I wish I lived in 24 land :-(

    Hello,
First time visitor and poster, but I couldn’t find an email link on your Jack Bauer bodycount, in season four Paul Raines died because Jack stopped the doctor from finishing surgery to save his life,at gunpoint,to save instead a Chinese national kidnapped from the chinese embassy(he was shot by the chinese), Paul was originally injured by stopping a bullet ment for Jack. Anyway hope this helps for the body count.
