Dark Room / Rambing

Right now I’m on my laptop using the wonderful Dark Room developed by jjafuller. Really it’s about the best idea ever to create posts when you really don’t have anything to write about. Having your entire desktop covered in darkness and just grinding out a post has never been easier. There is an OS X version named WriteRoom available.

I really don’t have much to talk about so I’ll just cover some items from the past and items for the future. Apparently it’s my birthday coming up in a few weeks. Right now I have no major plans. I took Monday the 17th off so I can go home for an extended three day weekend to see the family. Sadly this past weekend I was on call and missed a weekend full of vanhood but regardless had a fun weekend at home chilling and resting.

The “gato” purchased a new Macbook and oddly enough it’s not a bad machine. Doing just boring web surfing and chatting it seems a little more zippy then my iMac but my 20 inch monitor kicks more ass then any portable.

Here are a few pictures of vanbergs’s toasted car. Vanberge has gallery too and I’m sure more will be posted in the future. There is no reason to even talk about the Prix because it’s already been replaced with a 2006 Cobalt. Vanbergs has obtained “victory”….red…

With vanbergs getting a new car it puts the pressure on vanlandw once again to make some decsions about finances and what to do with them. I’ve been making and saving more money then I ever have and other then more gaming and computer equipment I can’t think of anything else I want more then a new car. GM seems to offer good deals on new autos (0% financing) and with a fatty deposit the payments and insurance wouldn’t be anything I couldn’t cover. Maybe 2007 will see vanlandw in G6 (alt link)? Who knows! Birthday and Christmas gifts of cash would be appreciated.

You should get the G6 GTP :-P

    WITH A MANUAL TRANSMISSION.

  2. 2 vanberge

AND - you have to get it before aug. 13th because we are going to a drag strip.

rotf vanberge….i’m not getting it this year…if I did I would drain my savings where if I waited i would put down a nice deposit and the change in insurance wouldn’t be a big deal

russ….i’m glad you love us. it’s nice to finally hear something positive from you in the comments!

You should wait until next year when the 08 models are coming out, and buy an 07 model. You can save a lot of money that way.

You make a good point kramer. I will be able to get a GM discount and to be honest if everything goes to plan the money aspect shouldn’t be that big of a deal. Even if I get the most expenive model I should be able to put half the cost of the car on a down payment and still have some nice savings.

I will be able to get the GM discount plus if I can act on the 0% financing I would be saving big bucks already. I don’t know last year I got the iMac this year I got the DS (much cheaper then a computer). After I can collect on some debts and keep saving how I am and maybe even get a new job here within the next year I may just splurge and get something cool and have my friends be proud of me rather then ragging on me.

The changes on the 07 are all things I would want on like anti-lock breaks and side airbags larger wheels are all standard equipment. I don’t know it’s just a thought. I’m vanlandw

Of course, the post is titled “Dark Room” and all the comments are completely off topic. Regardless, my grandpa did not give the G6 his seal of approval so I cannot endorse it.

Why didn’t your grand father not enjoy the auto jja/full?

  9. 9 Jeff

He said that the seats were too narrow.

Well then that eliminates the G6 for vanlandw, he’s a fatass. And you have to get a manual vanlandw, there’s no option here. I guarantee you will enjoy it 7,000,000,000% more than a goddamn automatic. brb

If I had a way to learn I would vanbergs. I cannot buy a $25,000 car when I don’t know how to drive it :-(
I wish there was a course I could take driving somebody else’s car into the ground for like $100 that would teach me how to drive a stick rather then driving my friends cars into the ground.

I believe the only model that comes in a stick is the GTP versions and they have about 250 hp six speed. And yes that would be mighty expensive.

manuals are usually cheaper than automatics. and you could learn how to drive in seriously an afternoon.

  13. 13 vanbergs

vanlandw is currently at the zoo!!!

  14. 14 vanlandw

With the G6 you can only get a manual in the most expensive model (GTP) with the biggest engine with the most extras.

    :-*

  15. 15 vanbergs

    and the problem is?… ;-)

Do you have $25,000 dollars to give to me for a new car?

    …..

    Didn’t think so paul ;-)
