•In February, Reward Zone program accounts with 250 points are automatically being issued reward certificates to the nearest $5 level

Apparently Best Buy needed to make up a word to hammer the point home that the Rewards Zone Program is now a joke. What this means is you HAVE to spend $250 dollars with Best Buy within a year to make even being part of the “Program” worth it. If you don’t hit that goal all your purchases are worthless to the program when February rolls around.

Last time I checked I was at about 180 points. Today I’m back down to zero.

I used to carry my Best Buy card with me everywhere. Today I ripped it up and threw it in the trash. Seriously what a bunch of idiots it’s just a worthless matter of control making the customer think their purchases are going to lead somewhere. Honestly it’s not even worth it’s weight in my wallet for a five dollar gift certificate.

With circuit city out of business, they can afford to be “dicks” about this…

Guess I’ll just have to make sure I stay hooked into Newegg/Amazon/etc for all my stuff as much as possible.

    Google should buy BuestBuy

Good game vanlandw. I pretty much only make big purchases, or purchases of necessarily there (i.e. emergency power supply replacement). I ended up getting $60 in certificates from the TV I bought back in November.

Also, please fix the tabbing of fields in the comments section. For some reason it goes from Name, to Search, to Email. Kind of jarring.

Please write another post at your earliest convenience.

Best buy, who are they? I know, they are the next Circuit City. I have completely written off Best buy when they made it all but impossible for me to spend $2,000 in their store when I was looking for a new TV. Yup, you heard me correctly. I was on the prowl for a Samsung 58″ plasma. After going to one store and not finding it there I asked the sale associate about it and he told me it was only available in their “Magnolia” stores. SO I went and drove clear across town to the “Magnolia” store only to find that the sales associate didn’t know jack about the television. While I could get over this since I know all about it I simply asked to buy one. Well, they didn’t carry the model I wanted but they did carry the next one up in the pecking order so I figured why not. It was only a couple hundred more and since it was money form a bonus it really didn’t matter.

Well, then I was told they didn’t stock any EVER, I had to pay, then wait for it to be transfered from a warehouse and then delivered to my house. Being the impatient american I am I left the store with cash in hand. I mean, if I wanted to wait for shipping I would just order online. So, Best buy is dead to me. Everything they carry is available online and for less anyways. They don’t really bring anything to the table except taxes and stupid associates.

    Long live NewEgg……
