I see what you're trying to say, Vanlandw, but I don't know if I necessarily agree. Yeah, Chase didn't want to provide a cookie-cutter Christmas present of an ending to his phenominal series. No tightly wrapped packages for viewers on this one. For that, I have to give him credit. He delivered a unique and emotional finale the likes of which no series has ever seen before. I watched it several more times, and I still feel the same as when I first saw it: I'm not signing for the package he delivered.

Anyone who knows me knows how I feel about endings to anything. Unless there is a period at the end of the sentence, it's hard to win me over. The finale to The Sopranos was almost a Cliffhanger with no end on the horizon. That's almost as bad as if Travers never would have said "FETCH!...Deux it!" in the actual Cliffhanger film. The way I feel, is that Chase could have provided the same emotional connections with a finale that wasn't so ambiguous. One of my favorite series finales is actually the last episode for "Roseanne". Laugh all you want, but that episode was insanely well-done and pretty much kicked you in the balls/ovaries, depending on your gender.

I wasn't expecting some big battle between crime families, or some outlandish action sequence, because the Sopranos was never about that. But what I was hoping for was at least a conclusive scene that didn't leave fans hanging...especially mid-Journey lyric.
