This came on randomly on iTunes while doing some work. It rocks wanted to share.

→ Sledgehammer Asks MW3 Fans for Help With Low Metacritic User Score

Yesterday, Schofield Tweeted:

“I don’t usually do this but, if u like MW3 go 2 Metacritic.com & help our user score,”  “It’s suspiciously low. Be honest but help if u agree.”

PS3 2.7, 360 3.1, PC 1.7, and Wii 1.6 user ratings for MW3 at Metacritic. That site is horrible I don’t understand why anybody even goes there or makes any buying decisions based on what’s posted there.

36 Crazyfists – Reviver – YouTube

Adding comments has been disabled for this video.

36 Crazyfists has been a long time favorite of mine. Finally got a chance to hear their newest album this is the best song on it. They should travel from Alaska to Grand Rapids and play a personal show for me.

→ Steve Jobs’s Real Genius : The New Yorker

As Jobs tells Isaacson:
This guy badgered me about how Microsoft was going to completely change the world with this tablet PC software and eliminate all notebook computers, and Apple ought to license his Microsoft software. But he was doing the device all wrong. It had a stylus. As soon as you have a stylus, you’re dead. This dinner was like the tenth time he talked to me about it, and I was so sick of it that I came home and said, “Fuck this, let’s show him what a tablet can really be.”

Too many people credit Steve Jobs for inventing products. This article I think hits it right. Good primer for the book.

Call of Duty Elite for PC Indefintely Delayed

We are working towards a universal Elite experience but we cannot guarantee if or when a version will be available for the PC.

I think on my way home today I’m gonna walk into my local Gamestop and pick up one of those Call of Duty Elite subscription cards RIGHT AWAY!! “!” PC players are on BF3 anyways I’m sure they don’t give a crap about this.

Fuck You Google

In order to protect the privacy of our personal networks Google wants us to modify the network name to conform to their arbitrary standards. I think that tonight I’ll be changing my network’s SSID to “Fuck you Google you arrogant assholes”.

This is regarding the Google Location Services and their new “opt out” options. Just another case of google sucking.

→ Journalism is About Trust and Respect

In the end it’s the readers that must decide if a journalist is worth investing their time in. If you don’t like what a writer has to say, or you have no trust or respect for them, it’s time to stop reading and find someone that you do like to read.

If only all writers felt the same way.

→ Halo Reach Co-Op and Firefight Lag Explained

Halo Reach uses 2 different network models for online play. Co-op and firefight run on a “synchronous” network model. Let’s say you are playing 4-player co-op. One player is the “host”, the other 3 are “clients”. All 4 players load the level, and all 4 players start the mission at the same time. Now, when a “client” presses a button, such as ‘jump’, their xbox sends a signal to the “host” xbox, telling it what the client player is doing.

Was lead to this article researching the punishing co-op lag in Halo Anniversary. If you are not hosting the game (I’ve tried this with three different hosts) the joining player is presenting with a practically unplayable game. Would love to hear how others are fairing. Never seen a co-op game play as bad as this one does. Highly disappointed and if online co-op is the reason people are buying this game I couldn’t recommend it less. Shame is Halo 1 is still a lot of fun to play hopefully a patch fixes this.

Flo and I tried last night.
I would call it “Playable” – what I experienced was mainly a mild button lag. It caused the game to feel slow but sounds like it wasn’t as bad as what flo experienced playing with you.

    Vanlandw,

Van and I played last night. While there was some lag and glitchyness it wasn’t as bas as when you and I played. And, it seemed to get better on the more wide open maps and the longer you played the game. But, it really isn’t as smooth as it should be. I’m going to email Amazon with the chat log and a pic of the broken halo case and bitch some more. I never did get my credit.

I have copied and pasted my email to all of you.

Vanlandw’s internet clearly enhances the shittyness of the situation. :-*

My internet is fine I monitored my bandwidth and it was never even close to maxing out. Also every other game on the planet plays fine for me. It’s not like my internet is “bad” I just don’t have the highest throughput my response is fine.

There are other threads in there counting over thousands of views with others running into the same thing. Would love to see 343 patch it hopefully they do. I would never want to play with somebody else being the client on that game it sucks it doesn’t run that good.
